UVB Lamps / Vitamin D

Light is life – why indoor rabbits urgently need UVB radiation.

🔬 What is UVB and why is it so important?

☀️ Natural Sunlight

Indoor rabbits completely lack natural UV light – the lamp replaces it.

🦴 Vitamin D for Bones

Without Vitamin D, rabbits cannot properly process calcium – bladder and bone problems threaten.

💡 UVB Lamp as a Replacement

A good UVB lamp reliably covers your rabbit's daily needs.

⏰ Circadian Rhythm

8-12h light, rest dark – important for well-being.

💡 Which lamp is the right one?

Reptile UVB Lamps 5.0 or 10.0

Specifically developed for animals' UVB needs – provide the correct spectrum.

Minimum duration: 6–8 hours daily

Best to automate with a timer – this keeps the daily rhythm stable.

⚠️

Observe distance!

Place the lamp so your rabbit can sit underneath it at a distance of 20–40 cm.

🔄

Replace regularly

UVB lamps lose their effectiveness after 6–12 months – even if they are still glowing!

✅ Reptile UVB lamp 5.0
✅ Turn on for 6–8h daily
✅ Use a timer
✅ Replace every 12 months
💡 Tip: A UVB lamp is essential, especially for rabbits kept exclusively indoors. Also useful for outdoor rabbits in winter!
